Communications Training Mission Plan
A communications training mission was held on 31 March 2007 at the
Scott Composite Squadron, Scott Air Force Base.
The mission would started with running the recall roster, UDFT/GT
equipment check, checking out the van for use (UDFT task), passing
message traffic, deploying the van with some members to use the van
radio away from the squadron and set up a relay, training in MRO tasks.
The communications training will consist of the following:
• BCUT at 0830 for those members needing it
• 0930 to 1130 communication task training for members.
• 1330 to 1600 communications exercise which will include:
o Checking into a mission
o Setting up simplex communications equipment an a simulated SAR base
o Passing traffic at regular/irregular intervals to and from the
simulated SAR base
o Practice filling out the proper CAP forms associated with message
transmission/reception
o Review of safety protocols for communications

This is only a communications exercise. No actual aircraft or Urban
Direction Finding or Ground Teams will be used. Mission Staff will
include a safety Officer. One or two Communications training officers,
one or two MRO SETs and may include an Incident Commander,
Communications Unit Leader, and an Information Officer.
All documentation will be forward to Lt. Scherer for review and filing
at the conclusion of the mission.
